December 13th - The Big First Birthday!

Yeah! We made it! Gary and I took off work on Thursday to celebrate Reese and Brady's first birthday. So many exciting and wonderful things are happening! Brady has been walking all over the place, and Reese is starting to take a couple of steps at a time. Brady can almost make it half way over the gates by climbing using his toes, which is very frightening for me, because I don't know how to make this place any more baby-proof than it already is! Reese is waving hello and goodbye, and we are hearing little words here and there! Very busy!

Brady had his first haircut today. We made it a family event, and they almost didn't survive the wait. You can imagine the ruckus we caused in a barber shop with no one younger than 80 in our midst. They probably thought they were going to have a nice peaceful haircut. They were wrong! Brady did well during the haircut sitting on my lap and eating cheerios. The barber was one of Gary's good friend's father, and he was excellent. You can tell he has done it a time or two! Gary tried to video tape and hold Reese which proved to be a challenge, but we survived.

We had cake at home, and their first impression of sweets was not real enthusiastic. I think their Daddy enjoyed it more! Daddy topped off the day by reading some books. We had a great day!
