Monkey Room

Yesterday we went to the Monkey Room. I got a great workout! Just as a heads up . . . those little indoor playgrounds are not really made for grown ups to go through! I was so amazed at how willing they were to do everything! Those slides are pretty big. Reese was my observer, but she ventured out on her own more than I thought she would. I had to keep Brady from knocking down all the younger children, but there weren't too many disgruntled Mommies!

Playing at the Mall

So, you start to get creative when finding free ways to entertain your children. I took them to the mall to play on all those nasty riding toys. Of course, none of them worked, so it really was free! They seemed to have fun crawling in and out of the rides. They saw the huge display where the Easter Bunny was going to perch. They weren't too sure about all that. We will see when it is picture time!

First Day of School

We took these pictures in the outfits Aunt Lisa sent for the kids. They looked so cute! It actually turned out to look like they were off for their first day of school. Even Reese was smiling! They loved the "boats" on the tops, and Reese thought it was a jacket, so she was pleased with that. For some reason, jackets have become a new obsession. She wants one on even in 90 degree weather. Ridiculous. Of course, I have to tell her no, and that is always great fun. Now she has started using, "my tummy hurts," or "I'm shaky (cold)." That only fooled me about 10 times!

"House"

Our children are always finding a different use for furniture, household items, etc. Brady is currently obsessed with the vacuum cleaner (as long as it is off), and Reese carries around every blanket in the house. Let me correct that . . . she makes us carry them around (following her) from room to room. What suckers.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Reese obviously was not happy about the holiday celebration. This is the disgruntled look.

My first onion!

Actually, it was my second onion. I wasn't successful at getting the first one out of the ground. That is embarrassing. Obviously, my gardening skills need some work! Reese stole it from me, anyway.

Helping Mommy

Well, our new project outside is "watering the garden." As you can imagine, the garden has very little to do with the event! Here are some pictures of our outside play time. It is such beautiful weather, we have to stay outside!

Audubon Zoo

I was so glad that the kids are finally to the age that they can appreciate most of the zoo. They had a really good time, and actually lasted a very long time! I still don't want to venture out to the zoo in July, but the Spring weather is nice and definitely tolerable.

Zoo Highlights!

Brady thought the birds were hillarious! He would make a "caw" sound, and they would echo it all around him. He thought it was the greatest game ever!

Reese wonders how close that volunteer is going to get with the lizard thing.

Brady begins to look like the petting zoo residents.

Swamp thing!

Reese is not too sure about those pink birds. They came screeching around the corner as soon as we walked up to the exhibit. It was a little overwhelming. Of course, Brady immediately had his face to the glass.

"Warming Up for the Tumblebus"

We had a good time while waiting for the Tumblebus to arrive at the High School. As a matter of fact, that made it a little more difficult for Brady and Reese to want to get on the tumblebus. Maybe next time I will make them sit in one spot and not touch or eat anything (including, sticks, grass, discarded cigarette butts, etc. All their favorites). That will make them ready!

Tumblebus

Well, we think we are over the stomach virus, so it is back to busy schedule! Believe me, I would rather the busy schedule than 2 sick toddlers!

Teresa is with us this week, and a wonderful help. We have used and abused her skills, and we are so thankful that her beautiful family shared her with us for over a week!

Here are some pictures of the Tumblebus. If you look closely, you can see that Brady stood at the window most of the time waving at me and screaming "Hi Mommmmmmmyyyyyyy!"
