So many parades, so little time!

Ochsner Parade

We were also invited to participate in the Pediatric Mardi Gras Parade at Ochsner on Friday! We loaded up in wagons, tricycles, etc and went through the lobby, cafeteria, peds, etc. The kids didn't really want to give up their stuff, so we ended up throwing to all the people lined up waiting for the parade. There was music, decoration, lots of throws, it was really cute. Well done, Phyllis, Abi, and Shelley! I could not believe how cooperative the kids were, because it was a little overwhelming. I don't even know how I did that when I had a heart that didn't work! I was really pooped yesterday!

To top off the day, Brady came down with a stomach virus. Vomiting, diarrhea, the whole nine yards. He couldn't take anything, even clear liquids, without vomiting. After Lesley took him to the doctor, he pretty much laid in my arms and fell asleep. He was so miserable to watch, but he tried so hard to keep playing. I have been up since 4:30 waiting for him to get up! I hope he feels better today.

Parade

We were lucky enough to have an invitation to some stands in Metairie for the Thor parade on Thursday night. I volunteer for KKC, and Phyllis needed a rep, since she was not able to attend. It was really nice, and the kids loved it! I was able to stay up high in the stands. There weren't many people up there once the parade started, and it blocked the wind. Gary, Lesley, and the kids went down to the baracades at the street. Taylor looked fabulous in her crown, and appears to be very good at begging for beads. Poor Gary and Lesley. They ran all over the place chasing around Brady. He ran himself silly before the parade, but then he just stood there, mouth open, stunned as soon as the floats came by. It was amusing to watch from a different angle (rather than the one where you are the chaser!)

Playtime

Taylor Entertains!

Thank you, Taylor for keeping them busy for us! You should see them play! The noise level is obviously through the roof, but we have learned to block out ALOT. If there is no blood, bumps, or broken items, we are good!

Taylor Visits Ochsner

Taylor went to the hospital yesterday with Lesley and I for my appointments. She was a little worried that she might be the patient, but we assured her that only Aunt Jamie would be tortured - just kidding. Phyllis brought her water colors, a Bingo game that focused on the heart (appropriate, as usual!), we ate a "big girl lunch," and she was able to play in the Peds Sibling Center. What a day! It was busy, and then we went and picked up Brady and Reese. The picture I am going to post should indicate the noise level that we endure riding in the car with 3 children. Ear transplants are next -

Daddy got in a fight

Gary claims Brady dropped a "bucket" on his face. Brady claims he was sitting in his rocking chair, peacefully sporting Taylor's boots. It's a mystery!

Guess Who Comes to Town?

No! This is not a famous fashion model! It's Taylor! Superstar!

Exhausted

This is what happens when you don't take a nap. If she was drooling, I would keep it to show her first boyfriend, since she gave me such a fight during nap. Notice Brady in the background trying to wake her up! Typical.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had huge plans for Valentine's Day (ha ha). We took Brady and Reese to the Kupcake factory to chow down on sugar. Turns out that we should just buy a vat of icing (does that come in vats?), because they don't actually like the cake part. I was going to treat myself to some ice cream (more affectionately known to my children as "cream"), and Reese ate most of it. Do you see a recurring theme in my life regarding food?

Crawfish Season!

Dear Daddy,

We feel we need to address the issue of crawfish consumption in the house. We (Mommy and the two of us - no cats allowed) met in secret last night, and decided that you were trying to eat all the crawfish yourself. Do you remember us begging last night? Do you remember how you ignored us until Mommy insisted? We were hungry for those tasty tails. Maybe you need to go to school with us and learn how to share. We have proof of how hard we had to work to have some crawfish. Don't make Mommy pull out her timer!

Sincerely,
The toddlers in the house

Our First Valentine Party

Reese and Brady went to their first Valentine's Day party at the Mother's Day out program. We tried to scrape up more red and white outfits, and these children rarely dress as a coordinated unit (like never). The teachers took pictures while we were gone, and I don't know how they did it, but the kids posed together. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Notice how happy they are while hugging each other. The love. Holding hands . . . when is this over? Stronger embrace? OK. I'm done! They did come out with very cute cards and goodies. They were very proud of their goodie bags.
