Fish Fry at SCUMC

Thank you to our church family for all your love and support. We had a wonderful time last night, and the kids told their Nana all about it this morning. Of course, she had a hard time understanding over the phone, but I think she got the picture!

Monkey Room

You all know about the Monkey Room by now. Here are a few pictures from yesterday. Luckily, we are going to get to go to our friends' birthday party there in a few weeks. I don't think they could ever get enough of this place. I love it too, but Gary . . .

Our Pumpkins!

Brady and Reese grew pumpkins! I could not believe that they actually grew. We bought a little pumpkin seed project to do together. They push the seed down, pour the water, cover it up, etc. Well, they actually grew into full fledged pumpkin vines! They were trailing most of our backyard fence! The vines were actually very beautiful, and they produced a beautiful yellow flower in the mornings. The two pumpkins we picked before getting rid of the vines (Gary chopped them up with the weed eater) were huge! I was too lazy to dig out the insides, so I just let them color on them and put stickers on them. They were very proud of their work, and it was actually a long project! 45 minutes in our household is a long project!

Water Play

We had fun with our friends on Thursday! We went to a very cool water play "play date," and the kids really enjoyed all the fun stuff to do. We lasted for about 1 1/2 hours, and then came a meltdown. We had to leave, because one of the children (I won't name who) wanted to play with the toys inside. Oh, well. Luckily, all the moms there had 2 year olds, so they were just as good at ignoring it as I am!

Last Night in Midland

Benton made some burgers and hot dogs for our last night in Midland. Pete and Barbara came over to eat with us, so it was an extra special night! I am sure it is crazy for them to see our children playing together, since Katie and I were not too much older than them when we became best friends! We love to watch them play.

The fireworks turned out to be too much for my kiddos. Reese wanted to go inside immediately, but Benton did pull out all the stops in terms of entertainment. They had the bouncy, mini jeep, etc. There are so many pictures! I am going to have to do several posts. It is also fun to see the grown ups playing. Ah, the good ole times . . . I think the faces on the pictures of us girls are priceless! Katie is going to hate me, because it proves she is always bossing people around!

The Swopes Family

We were only able to spend a little bit of time with Johna and Jason, since Johna is a party animal, and was hosting a bunko game (or something similar to). Just kidding, Johna. Unfortunately, my kids weren't in the picture taking mood, but they loved the bunny rabbit. Johna's children were very gracious to share their time and toys with my much younger children. It was so good to see them! You miss your friends even more when you get a brief opportunity to see them!

Our Personal Firehouse Tour

We were lucky enough to get the grand tour of the firehouse with Bobby! The kids loved it! I think I am now going to have to go out and by some fire trucks, books about firefighters, music, etc. Brady and Reese were all hyped up! I am surprised we got Brady out of there without a fight, but Bobby got them suckers, and that usually bribes them just enough to get them into the car! I can't wait to put them in their new t-shirts to take a picture. Thank you so much, Bobby!

By the way . . . this is the closest that the kids are getting to a thumbs-up right now! I still think they are doing a pretty good job of getting their point across!
