Nanna's visit

The kids sure had a good time when Nanna visited! She bought some baskets to put the stuffed animals in so Reese could submerge herself in them. Brady ended up with some ladies underwear on (and slept in them), as well as a crown on his head. Reese has also grown really fond of Spike (poor Spike), and they give hugs frequently. Brady is in to wearing anything he can find around the house . . . diapers, pants on the head, underwear, etc. Reese just liked the hospital socks.

Nanna and Kids at the hospital

As most of you know, I had a little R&R in the hospital recently. As you can see, my visitors were very interested in all the accomodations of the unit.

By the way . . . I am out and doing well.

Sibling Love

We finally have some concrete signs of sibling partnership! I was so sad that I wasn't in the car to witness the kids holding hands, but it was not staged at all. At least Mom and Gary took some pictures for me, because I wouldn't believed it if I didn't see it. Especially since I usually walk in on Reese pushing Brady saying "back, back," and Brady wrestling her to the ground.

Hurricane Brady and Reese

So we get home after the evacuation (about 2000 miles on the road), and Brady and Reese were really excited to be home. Their daddy (the reason for their messy opportunity) ran to the grocery store, and they did this in a matter of 5 minutes. I let the 3 of them decide how they would clean up! I think Brady and Reese decided that Gary would do it!

Hurricane Gustav Evacuation

Well, I can't say that hurricane evacuation is ever fun, but we had the best time we could possibly have! We were able to spend time with Lesley and Taylor in Dallas (with the cats, kids, and 2 frazzled grown ups). We also drove to Midland to be at Ragan's shower, and it was a wonderful time. We were able to see lots of family and friends, so evacuation was definitely productive! Not many pictures, since I had lots on my mind :)

Bath Time Fun

I cannot tell you how much bath time is enjoyed in our house. The pictures will probably give you a glimpse.

Brady Beach Pictures

Reese Beach Pictures

Beach Pictures

Just in case you don't know, Brady, Reese, and I went to "the beach" at Fountainbleu State park to take pictures with a lady that does casual shots on the North Shore.

Just in case you don't know . . . I hate the sand. Put me in a blizzard any day, but please chop off my toes if I decide to subject myself to 2 toddlers on a makeshift beach taking pictures. It was super fun (I say that in the absolute most sarcastic way possible).

Gary says that this is what our backyard may look like if Gustav pays us a visit, but I am ignoring him. Denial works well for me.

I am going to post some pictures of them separately.

Pictures

Boxes have always been a favorite in our household, so I don't even know why we buy toys. They will push these things around yelling beep beep, put things in them, put themselves in them, etc. It is pretty interesting to see what they come up with. If you look closely, you will notice Reese is eating asparagus in hers. They always want what I am preparing for dinner (thinking it is apples if it is being cut), so I just give it to them to stop the arguing. Usually the onion or eggplant hits the ground in disgust. Reese will take a few bites just to prove she really wanted it, but I know the truth. However, she really did like the raw asparagus. She kept coming back for more, and actually eating it! Brady followed her lead, but decided to use it as a type of sword than actually digesting it. The things they choose to eat!

Enjoying the Great Outdoors

The kids love being outside, even if it is 200 degrees. Fortunately, we just got some shade and comfy seating, so at least I am not a sweaty mess after a short trip outside. You all know that I don't like to sweat!

Busy Weekends!

We have had some busy weekends lately since football season approaches. All other activity halts at that point, and we lose Gary for a little while. Eventually he returns, and dreams that maybe the Saints will pull it off next year. Hee Hee. I am guilty, too, of enjoying football season, so I hope that Brady and Reese join in . . . eventually. I am going to attach some photos of our busy play schedule. We have been to a birthday party, some play groups, and had friends over to the house. So much to do!

It's the Wiggles!

The day we have been waiting for finally arrived . . . The Wiggles! We tricked Daddy
into thinking he was going to a KISS concert, and slipped into the Wiggles! We had fun even before the show, and bought all kinds of unnecessary crud. I don't think the pictures could ever reflect how ridiculously fun the whole scene was!
