Double Shot Under the Big Top

There was a fundraiser this weekend for Pediatrics at my hospital, so I went to volunteer after the church festival. The kids and Gary met me after I was finished, and they enjoyed all the kid-friendly events.

Our Favorite Activity

Brady and Reese would not get out of this thing. I think we need one for the backyard. Gary even wrote down the number in case we become desperate. Thanks so much to our friend, Jeanne, for helping us keep an eye on them. There were people everywhere. We actually were able to eat some of the food, and check out the auction tables. We didn't win anything, but we probably didn't need to spend any money anyway. Especially if we are going to have a bouncy thingy in our backyard.

Enjoying the circus atmosphere

Church Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch

We had a very busy day on Saturday, and you can tell by all the events we attended. Fall is a great time of year here, but we are going to have to do nothing next weekend! Our church had a great festival for us to enjoy, as well as the only pumpkin patch around. I posted several pictures of the kids having fun.

Playground pictures

Playground

There were so many things for the kids to do at the festival, and guess what they liked the most? The church playground. We are there every Sunday, and they have seen that stuff a million times! I guess there is a lot to be said for familiarity. They were really busy in this area!

The pumpkin patch as a little bit of a mystery, too. Their favorite "game" there was to throw the big orange "balls" all over the place. I thought we were going to have to buy the whole patch. To top it off, Brady attempted to escape me while Gary was at the gumbo cookoff. Those were the worst 30 seconds of my life. It was still a great time, but it was time to go after that!

Petting Zoo

I wish we would have tried to get some shots on the camera, but we recorded them. These are the petting zoo shots, and they were very curious. Brady and I may be in the paper with our friend, the llama (sp?). After awhile, they just ignored the animals and started picking up sticks. At least I hope it was sticks.

Sweet Candid Shots

I always think that the best pictures are taken when the kids are playing, and they don't know they have an audience.

Party

Well, I can't post all the pictures of the party Reese and Brady attended on Sunday. Apparently, they had a very good time, but the pictures are a little incriminating(thanks to the skillful art of posing by the adult participants!). Don't worry. No children were hurt during the photos you are about to see. Gary and I returned from the Saints game to find 2 very happy children! Thanks Joey and Wendy! ---We know who set up the pictures!

Pictures

I am just attaching this picture, because I thought it was so sweet to see the kids eating together and enjoying each other. To get all three of them to sit down is an absolute miracle! It must have been our lucky day!

I would show the pictures of the good times they had in the bathtub, but I don't want to get too racey on the blog!

The puppies

I am attaching pictures of the kids petting the neighbor's dog, Sushi. They have 3 chihauhas that are so cute! She was probably scared to get mixed up with 3 toddlers, so we just met over the fence.

Playing with Sidney

Melis and Sid Visit

We were lucky to have our good friends come for a visit this weekend. We went to the French Quarter to ride the horse carriage. Sidney, Reese, and the grown-ups seemed to enjoy. Brady was not as thrilled, but we had a great time. That was all my two kiddos could handle without having a complete meltdown, so we went home for naps. That included me.

Sunday afternoon

Aunt Wendy and Uncle Joey came to visit on Sunday and watch some football. Apparently Joey and Reese are BFFs, and the rest of us got the boot. She really didn't leave Joey's side the whole afternoon.

My kids got some advice on what to do at a frat party, since they are going with Joey and Wendy next weekend. Fortunately, Gary and I are too old for all that, so we will just be going to the Saints game. I know what you are thinking, and yes, it is appropriate for toddlers to go to frat parties. We can't shelter them all their life :)

Company Picnic

We went to Gary's company picnic this weekend, and the kids had a great time. They had lots of open space, beautiful weather, and ice cream. It was a toddler's paradise . . . a Mommy's laundry problem.

I have posted pictures of some of the favorites, but the most intriguing part of the picnic for them were the sticks. I really have to get my kids out more.
